Welcome to
Honiton & District Canine Society.

 
The society has been successfully running obedience classes in the Mackarness Hall in Honiton for over 35 years.
It has a team of experienced and enthusiastic trainers, 
who, as well as teaching you in your class,
will always be willing to discuss with you individually any 
problems or queries you may have.

We also run agility classes, held on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday evenings at Ellishayes Farm.
You will be able to attend these once your dog has reached a reasonable standard of obedience and is at
least 12 months old (a little older for big boned dogs).

The society also runs the Kennel Club ‘Good Citizen Dog Scheme’ and you will be given details of this during classes.

We can also offer advice on showing your dog, please speak to Jane or Gordon at Obedience for more info.


As well as the above dog training activities, we hold many social and fund-raising functions throughout the year. Many thousands of pounds have been raised for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, the local Primary School Partial Hearing Unit, and local charities.The most recent was a sponsored walk in aid of Macmillan Nurses. In all our social activities, the emphasis is on fun. This may be with our dogs-as at a summer fun day, when we all play silly games- or without dogs, at the annual dinner, skittles matches and barbecue. New members and their families are especially welcome at all events, as are new ideas for social and fund raising activities. Check the Diary Page for all event dates.

4. MARGERET SOUCHON, TREASURER, HAS COLLIE CROSS BRIONY AND RESCUE COLLIE MAX. BRIONY HAS TAKEN PART IN A FEW SHOWS, AND LOTS OF DEMOS. MAX HAS JUST STARTED TRAINING.
5. FRAN COLES, HELPS AT OBEDIENCE, HAS STANDARD YORKIE, RALPH.
6. JANE ADAMS,OBEDIENCE AND RINGCRAFT TRAINER, HAS LOTS OF SHOW LABRADORS! 
7. TIM KNEE, AGILTIY TRAINER, COMPETES WITH WSD JAK, CROSSBREED HARVEY, AND  BC MEGAN. TIM IS NOW ALSO UNDERTAKING JUDGING APPOINTMENTS THROUGHOUT THE UK.
